my new bike

by lois wnc
(N.C.)

Just picked up my new bike a 2011 BMW F800ST. Already love it.I hope to get over to the dragon this weekend to test it out, had it up on the blue ridge parkway tonight after work. It has an optional factory lowered suspension and I can flat foot it what a great thing for me with my 29" inseam. Hope to have a long and happy time together.

Beautiful!!

Haha, I would NOT suggest taking that thing off road. ST stands for "sport touring" and in no way does that mean off road. But AMAZING bike! I've been drooling over that particular model for awhile now, and when I get enough extra funds for an additional bike, that'll probably be it. I have a Ninja 650R that works pretty good for sport touring, but it'd be nice to have something dedicated and comfy for that. And BMW's are just that. Comfy bikes that can really lay down the miles. So happy for you, hope you enjoy!!

Oh, and we just missed you if you went to the Dragon this weekend! We were there on Thursday, and left mid Friday. Next time!!

I am so jealous. What a beautiful bike. You can now be an adventure rider as the BMW's can go off road. Congratulations.
Safe riding and can I say again that I am so jealous.

Awesome choice Lois! I'm sure you'll have a blast! I only joined the Beemer club recently myself & I'll never look back!

nice!
by: Lynn - Florida

I was just looking at the BMWs this past weekend & they are SO nice! Glad to hear they have optional lowering from the factory now. A short friend actually had to have her shock springs shortened & front end lowered on her BMW so she could reach the ground. I never wanted to incur the expense of such mods. after the expense of buying the bike itself.

There is hope for us shorter ladies who want a touring bike. Have loads of fun on your new bike. It is a beauty!

Oh...WOW

I am soooo jealous...

What a hot bike. Have a ball with that on the dragon.

I've got to get my ol' comfy ulta classic detailed and sold so I can get one of those.

Thanks for the info on the lowering as I'm a bit vertically challenged myself
