Sittin' long?

Could be that the carbs could be gummed up.
You can use quick start into the carb with the filter out. If your plugs are wet, your getting fuel, no spark. If its turning over, the battery is good. If I'm going to let my bike sit, I use a quart of 100 octane aircraft fuel in the tank so it wont gum up. I let in run shortly to get it in the carb and shut it down, and it should be good. Just add more regular fuel before putting it back on the road.

You might want to go on one of the Honda Rebel forums. They have a lot of good information on there and you can post your question there. I recently sold my Rebel, but did frequent the forums when I had her. Hope this helps some!

Starting

You need a few things to get a bike to start.

Simple stuff like the emergency cut off switch, has gas? Then needs spark, check wires from battery to starter to coil to spark plugs. Check spark plugs - are they greasy or black? That would mean they aren't sparking right. Need clutch engaged: if you put the bike in gear and squeeze the clutch, does it roll? It will roll in neutral, so if it doesn't roll in gear with clutch in, then check the clutch cable, particularly the adjustment linkage under the rubber bootie-thing. (yeah, I'm real technical). If that's all good, get it to a shop.

Sounds electrical, try looking at your relays, grounds, & coil. Good luck!

Why don't you ask you local Honda dealer?

Since they sell and service Honda's seems like that is who I would ask.

If you form a good relationship (like buys things) with them you can usually just ask..no charge.
