my first motorcycle show - rockerbox in milwaukee

by Robin
(Madison, WI)

I went to my first motorcycle show this weekend - Rockerbox in Milwaukee (http://rockerbox.us/). There were THOUSANDS of Euro, Japanese and American vintage café racers, choppers, sport bikes, racers, super motos, scooters and sidecars. It was AMAZING.

I made a little video of some highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dWrbPm9zLY

Growing up, we had one of every kind of cruiser or sportbike made, but I didn't know anything about Brit bikes, cafe racers and the creative artistry of custom vintage rides. Now I feel like this is the kind of ride I've been looking for.

Any women out there riding these bikes? I'd love to hear about your bike and the scene.

kindred spirit
by: Robin

I read a lot of posts here looking for tips, and you always have the good ones!
I've never tried out a Thruxton - at 5'7", I wonder if it would be a fit for me. Kind of pricey, though!
What grabbed you about the Moto Guzzi? After a student summer exchange in Italy, I have an affinity for all things Italian. I mean, gelato, ferrari, men AND motorcycles! What's not to love?

A kindred spirit how nice. I love the thruxton if my legs were just a bit longer I would have one. Was the one you saw red with white strips on the tank? Thats my favorite I have sat on it many times, the sales men just look at me and shake their heads, they know it can't be lowered enough for me. My local triumph dealer is great everyone there has been there for years my husband and I are regulars there, he has a 2008 sprint and I used to have an 06 bonnie. But I love my Guzzi! And a girl can dream can't she

So far it hasn't been any more expense, I did have a wait for parts after mt accident but I have another bike so I wasn't going crazy waiting for it to get fixed to ride again. Have you checked out the Triumph Thruxton? I'll add a post with pictures soon

Hi Lois! i've seen your posts. do you have a pic of your bike? has it been more expensive to maintain than a more common american/japanese bike?
