My 2002 honda shadow spirit 750 stopped last night. Why?

by Brian

I have a 2002 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 and was riding it about a week ago and it started spitting and sputtering, so I switched to reserve thinking it was low on gas, then slowed to a stop. I let it sit for about 10 or 15 minutes and it started back up. I assumed it was my reserve taking time to kick in. Since then I haven't driven it more than about 5 miles within 4 or 5 hours time. I took it out last night and got about 8 miles and it did the same thing. This time it wouldn't start again. I realized the coolant was completely empty, so I filled it and tried again. While I was trying, the battery died on me so I charged the battery over night. I tried again today, and it still wont turn over. Any ideas? Did I ruin something? The auto part store said it could just be a coolant sensor, but it could be anything. Help?

You're right, that was a stupid question. Why would this site even exist if you just told everyone to go see their dealer? If you don't have a legitimate answer, why comment at all?

I know this is probably a stupid suggestion by why not ask your local Honda dealer
