Mods for Women Riders

by Juliette
(Seattle)

I co-produce an internet show about motorsports, and we did a series of short videos about motorcycle modifications that better adapt bikes to women riders.

I worked with the owner of our local Guzzi dealership who has thought a lot about this subject. The vids may be more valuable for new riders, but there is a lot of good info in them. Since we've finished editing the first two short vids in the series, I thought I'd post link to the play list: http://tinyurl.com/yhbwulp

Thanks for the link,

I ride Guzzi's and was challenged by the height and weight of my new California EV. I thought of doing mods to lower the seat, but after a few 100KMS decided that a thicker sole on my riding boots was sufficient (and cheaper). Also once I became more accustomed to the feel of sitting at lights with balls of feet down rather than whole foot, the issue went away.

More meaningful to me is the challenge of getting my big girl off the side stand. Evie leans very far off centre when resting on the stand (notoriously difficult even for blokes) I've thought of welding a small foot (riser) to the bottom of the stand. Others have done this and indicated it is a good idea. Evie is too heavy for me to right her before I mount her. I am very choosy about when I park her, a wrong angle slope and invariably I need to ask for help. Again getting to know Evie has helped.

Hope you cover this topic too.

Thanks again from Australia.

Linda
