Looking for a women's beginner track class

by Robin
(Durham, NC)

I have about 1500 miles on my bike and would like to gain experience in turns, while going a bit faster. I think a beginning track class with instruction may help me gain confidence with speed and turns-while being in a controlled setting. Has anyone taken the CLASS course or Ducati's Riding Experience? I've been riding about a year and own my second bike, a Triumph Bonneville T100. I've ridden in the NC mountains but would like to do it with more confidence! What is your opinion of these courses and can anyone recommend others? I've had the MSF course but have not done the advanced course yet.

Thanks for your suggestion. That does sound like exactly what I'm looking for. I'll check it out after the holidays.

Cornerspeed at VIR

Cornerspeed at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) offers exactly what you're looking for. Check out cornerspeed.net. Here's a partial course description: Level 1 Cornerspeed® Riderschool

The Cornerspeed Level 1 Riderschool is a one day comprehensive school. Our emphasis is on bike control through turns and how to develop rhythm as a "pilot" (the correct term for a motorcycle rider/racer). We break down the parts and pieces of what it takes to "be smooth" (rhythm). We do not just tell you to "go out and be smooth", we EXPLAIN AND SHOW YOU HOW to be smooth.

We define and discuss types of turns, pavement and elevation changes, parts of the turn: entrance, mid-corner and exit, setting up for the turns and how to put it all together.

Being relaxed and smooth on the bike is every rider's ultimate goal. After that, it's easy to go fast!

I see that you're in Durham too. Me too.
