I grew up taking charge; I married a man who also is used to taking charge; we struggle with who is in charge of what. He writes the checks; I balance the checkbook; we confer on everything, but in the end someone always has to give in so the other can "be in charge (control)". Usually I give - it's a biblical thing for me.
But for the time I am riding my bike, even though I choose to follow his lead, I'm in charge of my ride. Simple as that - it's a Win-Win!
