I too have short hair and think it is the hair "jabbing" back into my scalp. Feels like needles and drives me nuts! It's affecting my rides ---help! Yesterday, while getting ready for a long ride, I tied on a banadana and after about 10 minutes - my scalp starting itching with just the scarf on - further proof that it's not my helmet but my hair. Woe is me . . .

I thought I was the only one! Thanks for all the other comments, I just figured it is my short style "jabbing" my scalp too. Scratch like crazy! Laura

Had a nice "itchless" ride by: Tammy
We went riding this past Saturday and thank God, no itching. This time I washed and conditioned my hair and put a light mousse on. I've also been tying my cotton doorag tighter. I'm going to try this same regimen, again. Hopefully it will work again!!!

INTOLERABLE by: Anonymous
Just returned from a ride and I suffered terribly from the itch. Yesterday had no itch. Hair was washed, no gel, spray, etc. and thoroughly rinsed. It is intolerable.

Itchy helmet head by: Lynette
I have the same problem and have not found a solution. I've tried the same actions as you with the same results. I do seem to have better results with cotton doo rags instead of nylon.

I blowdry my hair straight by: Cathy G
Hello,
I have the same problem and I too have short hair with layers. My hair is wavy, and I figured it was the multiple hair lengths along with the curls that might be jabbing into my scalp. I blowdry my hair straight as I can and then slip on my helmet. Maybe our helmets aren't on tight enough. I've wondered if maybe my helmet was just not snug enough. I also wondered if some sort of fleece cap would absorb the ends that jab my scalp (assuming that's what they're doing).
Take care,
Cathy
