I'm 16, and I need advice for a type of motorcycle to buy.

I've wanted a motorcycle for as long as I can remember. My father was extremely into motorcycles, but he unfortunately passed away two years ago. My mother has agreed to let me get a bike, but I have no idea which brand or bike to buy. I'm 16, 5'5, and 125 lbs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Money is not really an obstacle.

Hmmm...

The Honda Rebel is a favorite of many a new rider. The Suzuki TU250 has the difference of not having to mess w/the petcock (turning on the fuel before starting the bike); keep it small until you have completed the course and have a full season of riding under you for highway riding...you are a very young and inexperienced driver, and we want you to have MANY years of safe riding ahead of you!!

Check out the Yamaha TW200. I agree it is a good idea to take the MSF course.

Type of Bike

I think a 250 rebel would be a great bike to start with - I started out on one the weight is great for a newbie- good luck and be careful!! also take the basic riders course it really helped me.

Safety first!

The first thing you should do is take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course and get the basics under your belt! You'll be able to start making educated decisions about what kind of bike you want. Then take your time and shop around to find the perfect bike that fits you! Best of luck to you!
