I RODE TODAY! First time on my bike!

by Bridgett
(Roseville, CA)

Well, we finally had a nice day, no rain and I was able to take my new (2005) Sporster for a ride! My husband took me to the parking lot at his work (HP, so it is a BIG campus)I have not been on a street bike before (except the MSF class) and I was so nervous, but I got on and just took off! It was a BLAST! My husband was amazed at how well I did, and I was too. He then had me follow the leader. He drove my car all around the campus and I followed. It taught me alot about stopping downshifting, taking off, turning, and watching cars ahead of me (only him, but its a start!) So, I am soooo hooked. Within a few hrs of riding, I wanted to ride some more, but I took my bike into Harley to get some things done to it, so it will be ready next weekend should the weather allow.

Just wanted to share! And BTW, I shared before, that after taking the class, I did not do very well, was surprised I passed. It is amazing how much easier this was. Not the pressure of the class watching and judging (they don't, but that's what if felt like) and the obstacle course instructions alone, left me dazed and confused! Anyhow, Happy Trails Lady's! I will keep on practicing in the lot for a few more times, then low traffic areas, there are some rural farm roads behind us. YAHOO!
