I did It!

by Noelle S.
(Freehold, NJ)

I did it! I went out on the open road for almost 2 hours today. I started the day with my boyfriend, who rides a Harley. We took some nice back roads where I could get up to speed but there wasn't much traffic. My best friend met us when we stopped for break and I felt even more comfortable. One of them in front of me and one behind me made me feel safer. I did really well and wasn't nearly as nervous as I thought I would be. I did take one turn too wide and another too tight but all in all I was so proud of myself.

It definitely helps to have experienced riders with you to give you gentle pointers. I am usually proud and stubborn but this is one area where I am completely open to suggestions and constructive criticism. I feel great and a little tired which I guess in normal! And I actually dropped my bike when I got into my driveway and way trying to turn it around. It fell gently and just the highway bar touched the grass. I never let go of the bike completely and my bf and my bud picked it up for me. Sick as it sounds, I feel like the small bruise I got on my leg is kinda like a milestone. If that's all I get! Thank you sooo much for all the comments and support. PL&H

I'm happy for you. Keep up the good work. Your story reminded me of last summer when I took my first ride on the open road. Enjoy!

First you should know how to p/u your bike if you are alone who is going to p/u the bike for you.

Now with that being said, I hope you took the MSF class. If not, Please take it. It just might save your life. I am not trying to be hard, just trying to make sure you live to ride and ride to live.

May God be with you, you can do it!

M/C instructor Sorry I can't give any names.
