I can't take it anymore either

by Bobbie
(Fla.)

Help! Is there such a thing as a comfortable seat for a HD Iron 883? Now ladies if you've got one or ridden one I don't have to tell you. It is so bad that after about I'm looking for a soft place to fall off. There has to be a good seat out there . The sales people will tell you anything and I don't want to make a $450.00 mistake. Would like to hear from some one who had the problem and solved it.you know ladies when your butt hurts everything hurts. It can ruin the whole ride.

Butt Pillow

While they're not pretty, you can buy an air cushion called an Air Hawk that can make the difference between riding and not riding. They're much cheaper than a seat and can go with you from bike to bike if you have more than one and the amount of air can be adjusted to what works for you. I did a fly and ride from New England to down south and put one on a bike I was buying that was had a seat that was notorious for its discomfort. The Air Hawk was totally comfortable and really made the ride enjoyable. They attach with what look like bra straps, very low tech, also what makes detaching a cinch too. The ultimate butt pillow. Not pretty, but your buns will thank you.

Motorcycle seat

Bobbie, I don't have an Iron, but I have a sportster superlow and had the same problem. I ended up buying a Mustang seat for mine and really like it. We also have one on our Heritage. I was a passenger then and the back seat was killing me after riding only about 30 miles...I was in tears. I know how miserable having a uncomfortable seat is. Some HD dealers will let you test ride seats. You might check and see if you have a dealer nearby that does that. Also, if you re on Facebook you might check out this page - Women Who Ride Rock - you have to ask to join but bet there will be someone there who can give you more advice. Good luck! Joan

Mustang seats are best for me, got one on my 1100 vtar, but I will tell you that TIME in the saddle will also help.. My first 3-4 months were brutal. But for some reason I can ride forever comfortable now.. even on a stock Roadstar seat.
