How to Ride on the Back.....?

by Lili Nabavi
(Santa Rosa, CA, USA)

I grew up around bikes...earliest memories were guys at the family house. Biker weddings...but we moved when I was 12. Now, true to my roots I'm engaged to a rider. I love to ride on the back. It's the only true freedom. I just want to know how to be a good passenger. I need to know how to ride during a wheelie...I didn't do well. loved it but I wasn't one with my man or the bike. Lol. I don't know the center of weight. Any advise?

How to Ride on Back

First of all, don't be riding two-up during wheelies. Yes, I have done wheelies, but I would never jeopardize my wife by stunt riding with her behind me.

The Suzuki manual for my bike offers these tips:

Inflate rear tire to two-up pressure.
The passenger should hold onto your waist or hips, or onto the seat strap or grab bar.
Ask your passenger to not make any sudden moves.
The passenger should lean with you while going into a curve.
The passenger should always keep his or her feet on the foot pegs--even when stopped at a light.
Warn your passenger to not touch the hot exhaust while mounting or dismounting the motorcycle.

Be careful, and think before you act.
