How much oil should I put in my Honda VLX 600 cc year 2004?

by Jonquille-Lise
(Quebec, Canada)

I've had this bike for a month 1/2 now and I don't know how to read the dipstick for the oil.

Can someone please tell me exactly at what line the oil should show. Line 1 at the bottom or line 2 a little way up.

I'm 61 and have not driven for 40 years but I'm enjoying every ride and love riding a bike again.

I've felt, burnt my right leg on the exhaust pipes (3rd degree) but it does not matter.

The bike did not come with a manual since it is a 2004 so please up to where should the oil go on the dipstick??

Thanks so much for the answer.

How much oil for Honda VLX answers

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who posted an answer to my oil dipstick question. I really appreciate and I now know how it works.

My oil level (I had put my bike upright and not on the stand lol) was fine but I wanted to be sure.

Have a nice day everyone and thank you so much for this site. I believe I will have other questions along the way.

You should be able to get an owners manuel . Check with the motorcycle dealers. You should have one and get on a site for the Honda owners they are very helpful .
Enjoy the ride.

Bike needs to be straight up and down
Not on the side stand
