Hopefully Soon to Be New Rider

by Tequila
(Kansas)

Well I've always loved motorcycles and yesterday I got to go on my first bike run. It was awesome after the run my dad let me sit in front of him and control the bike (somewhat). I love the style of the 2007 Honda shadow but I'm only 5' 3" and I'm worried it would be too much bike for me. So my question is what starter bikes should I look at that are lighter with a short seat height that have the look of the Honda shadow? any suggestions welcome. Thanks

I am 5'4 and now have a Boulevard C50 that has been lowered. My feet sit on the ground and it is very comfortable. I have noticed that the sharper the turns you do, have to turn wide but in most curves it does not effect to handling.

Well I've decided I definitely want a sport bike like a Ninja 500r or something close to that. I also found out from a friend that bikes can be lowered using lowering links and unless your taking corners over 100mph you wont even feel the difference. So now I'm scouring the internet looking for a cheap one for under $2000 close to Kansas so far not much luck.

I was thinking about a Rebel but I don't really like the look. I spent all day looking up diff bikes on internet and even started looking at sport bikes like the Buell XB12ss and the Ninja ZX-6r. I love the sleek design. Anyone 5 foot 3 with a sports bike I would be glad to have your feed back on which others to look into and what adjustments can be made on the to accommodate my short stature. I read about people lowering the front and back of the bike but also read that that can effect the handling of the bike.

Honda Rebels 250 or 450 [hard to find though].
