honda 50cc dirt bike won't run without the choke wide open

My son's 50cc dirt bike won't stay running without the choke wide open. It has been sitting for several moths but ran great the last time he rode it. Does this indicate bad fuel, no gas flow, or what? Any ideas will be helpful. Thank you.
