Great Day's Ride!

by Lynn Phillips
(Colquitt, GA, US)

My husband and I live on a farm with a very active life and have traveled many miles on a motorcycle. After many miles melting we finally learned how to dress for hot weather riding; long sleeve loose fitting wicking shirts, wicking underware from an hiking store and loose fitting cargo pants (better to be cool than look cool) and the importance of staying hydrated to prevent fatigue.
Now to get to the point of the great day of riding!!!!!
Last week we headed out to the Virginia State HOG Rally (we both ride Road Kings). We took our time getting there going 810 miles in two days. On the way home I wanted to see if I could actually ride home in one day. I had a great time riding the 810 miles back to South Georgia in one 14 hour day. The longest part of the ride was the last 45 miles it was getting dark and the rain had started comming down. Guess I'm a biker after all!
