Glasses and Helmets

I haven't started riding yet, mainly because I have a big concern about wearing a helmet with my glasses. I can't wear contact lenses (long story short...my right eye doesn't like contacts) and I really feel like I should purchase a helmet that covers my entire head. So...would I be able to wear my glasses under a helmet (I don't want them to get smooshed) or should i get prescription goggles/sunglasses? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Full-Face Flip-Top!
by: Jenny

When I wore a full face helmet that pulled down over my head, I had to take off my glasses to put the helmet on. Then I'd flip-up the visor, and put my glasses on. Then I'd take my glasses off, pull off my helmet, and put my glasses back on.

Then I got the Nolan full-face, flip-top helmet. I LOVE IT!!!!! Mine looks like this, but I'm not sure exactly which one I have.

Nolan N103 Solid Modular Helmet

My partner has the same helmet (in a different size and color). This is my second Nolan full-face helmet. They've improved it - now it's got a removable lining so that it can be washed! I only bought it in August, so I haven't tried to wash the lining, yet, but I'm guessing that after I go through a few thousand miles in July, I'll be THRILLED to have that option open to me!

I Wear Glasses
by: gina

I wear my glasses with helmet no problem. Just go try on helmet with your glasses and of course you have to take off glasses to put on the helmet then just reach through the shield/visor area to put your glasses back on. :)

You will find that your glasses will fit just fine behind the shield it may take a bit to get use to but it will work.

Glasses and Helmets

I have worn glasses since I was 10 yrs old, and know exactly what you mean. Over the years I have decided that the flex frames with an ear piece that goes straight back, and not hooked around the ear works the best under a full face helmet. which, by the way, I think is the best type to wear. The thin wire frames will bend without breaking, and can be easily taken off and on with the helmet on.
