Gas Tank

My gas tank has rust in it. Is there anyway to clean it out or do I have to buy a new one?

Relining a Gas Tank

I recommend the PUR brand relining kit. It retails for about $65 and contains everything you need to do your tank. One caveat-take the time to do it right. Don't skimp on time or materials and you will get a great quality finished product.

Gas Tank Rust
by: Anonymous

Gas tanks are very expensive. There are products made to clean rust out of a tank, and re-coat the inside if needed. Hit the motorcycle catalogs and places like NAPA automotive parts. Also check with your dealer, but remember if he is not completely honest he may try to order you a $400 tank.

CAUTION: While working on a gas tank remember the fumes are still there, even after it's empty. No smoking or sparks.
