Exhaust for a lady.....breaking the sound barrier.

by Kim
(Canada)

Hi,

I am looking at replacing the stock pipes on my Harley softail but am so undecided

I want to take the exhaust to stage 1 anyway to make the motorbike run more proficiently and an upgrade in pipes is recommended,....but, to what?

I love style & sound and like a classy look. I love the Harley rumble but don't want cops pulling me over to give warnings of loud pipes or have a headache a few minutes into my ride

Would love to hear from you ladies as to what exhaust you might recommend.

I would like my motorcycle to have a low rumble of authority and not an open mouth of aggression!

Any ideas? Warm regards.

Loud Pipes...
by: coffeepoet

I'm partial to Rinehart pipes. Wonderful deep throaty sound, will easily accommodate stage 1 or 2. check them out at www.rinehartracing.com. (and no, I don't work for them)

Screaming Eagles
by: Anonymous

There are two versions now of screaming eagles. The original are very loud. The new version is very quiet, legal in 48 states. I wish there was an exhaust in between as I have heard both.

My Boyfriend Loved His Eagles
by: Rene L

Hi,

I have a Suzuki Boulevard, so can't comment from my personal experience of Screaming Eagles (except as a rider 2 UP).

My boyfriend has a V-Rod and loved his Screaming Eagles. I rode with him on the back of the bike and never felt they were too loud. He allowed his biker friends to talk him into changing them out for louder pipes and hates the change. He often comments that he wishes he never let go of the Screaming Eagles pipes.

Pipes
by: Lynn - Florida

I would avoid the Screaming Eagles. I borrowed my friend's Nightster for a week last summer and she had the complete upgrade to the Screaming Eagles. I had more people flipping me off than I could count. Especially in the city where the sounds bounces off buildings. Way too loud! My VStar has the upgrade to Cobra pipes, which can get loud but not totally obnoxious.

Can't be much help.

Sorry. I like quiet pipes, so I recommend stock BMW. You should love your ride, though, so make it how you want it. Enjoy the ride!
