Engine shuts down

I have purchased a 2007 650 V Star with only 3200 miles and had it 4 weeks. It has been back to the dealer and had plugs replaced and carburetor cleaned as it would just stop running. I got it back this past week took it out Saturday and 500 feet from home it stopped running and engine light came on. Then it wouldn't start again. I am going to take it to a bike shop down the road but was wondering if anyone has experienced this with this type of bike and if so what the outcome was. Thanks.

Check out www.650ccnd.com/ There is a forum, and it is a great info site on these bikes. These guys are so familiar with any known problems or common causes of them. Great source for modifications and after market stuff too! Good luck, I have a 2000 Classic and am frequently on there looking up stuff.
