Contact lens wearers, what type of helmet do you prefer?

What type of helmet/protection do you prefer if you wear contact lenses? Not sure if full or half helmet would be best. I know I'd have to wear some eye protection with 1/2 helmet. Or is it best to go with full helmet? Any suggestions?

glasses/contacts
by: Carrie

I wear glasses most of the time and I prefer the half helmets... or 3/4. Hubby wants me to get a full face but I hate them, they squish my glasses and I feel like my vision span is limited. It probably isn't but I'm a bit clostrophobic too so. If I could find a full face that didn't make me feel clostrophobic and didn't squish my glasses and still was tight enough not to move in the wind, then I'd probably get one. Much more protection.

Contacts

I also wear glasses with the foam insert regardless of what helmet I am wearing.

both

Ok, summer time I wear my half shell with glasses that have the foam to keep the wind out. More comfortable for the Texas heat in the summertime. But in the winter time I do like my full face with the pull down face shield but I still have to wear my glasses for my contacts to keep that wind out so I can see. Now on long hauls like from Texas to Sturgis lst year I did wear my full face to keep the sun and wind off my face and my long sleeve shirt to keep my skin from wind burn and sun burn. But I think the helmet is actually a self preference of each rider.

I wear a 3/4 helmet
by: Nana

I feel claustraphobic in a full face helmet or one with a shield. I wear an open face 3/4 helmet and some good sunglasses that have foam around the eye frame. I hardly ever have a problem with my contacs. I also wear clear goggles if I'm riding at night or in dark conditions.

contact lens wearer's helmet

i personally wear a full face helmet with my contact and still wear eye protection as well. i found that i do not get the wind trying to move my lens off my eyes at high speeds with the fullface that i did with other styles of helmets. i wear a daily wear soft lens.
hopefully helpful
ride safe
