clutch and brake levers for small hands

by Tammy Lamb
(Burton Michigan )

Hi I just got a 07 Harley Davidson Sportster 883, my first bike. I already have made adjustments to the shocks and seat because I'm only 5'1. I have been riding it but I want to bring the clutch and brake closer. I order adjustable Boss Blade cause I thought they would be great! They are on back order. Then come to find out that they are not coming out til June for the sportster. So my question is what are other ladies with small hands using and is it working out?

Levers that might help the "reach" challenge
by: Harleymartha

I am also a 5'1" on a good day, kind of rider. I addressed this on my 97 sportster by purchasing "trigger grip" levers for my bike. This allows you to "hook" your finger on the lever and bring it in for the rest of your hand. I upgraded to an 07 deluxe and that was the first purchase that I made, was another set of levers. I'm not sure that it makes that much difference, but I don't have the feeling of my fingers sliding on the lever. They are made by Kuryakyn. Hope this helps.

I recently installed "Clevvers" on my 1100 VStar to help soften the clutch pull. Cost about $44 and made all the difference. It is just a replacement lever that is re-engineered.

Tammy, congratulations on your 'new' sportster. While I don't have a suggestion for clutch and brake levers, I would suggest that you check out this forum "The Queens of the Road" if you haven't already. You can go under the "search this forum" section and type in your request. I'm sure there are other ladies in this forum that have the same issue you do and can answer your question. Good luck and ride safe! Joan
