I have an 08 honda rebel which i bought used and didn't come with a manual. Can someone PLEASE tell me how I know when the choke is on and when it's off. If the start position is on the bottom, is that where I should be running the bike at all times?? HELP!!

I have an 85, all origional with 22000 miles on it...Runs like a dream!
-Choke towards you(down) is on.
-Choke away from you(up)is off.
don't give it gas when starting the bike, just choke and push the start button.

I also have a Rebel. When the choke is pushed away from you, it is off. When its towards you, it is on.

When you start your bike, 1st, pull it towards you. Next, start the engine. Keep it on for about a minute, then turn it half way off for another 30 seconds or so, then turn it off. Your engine should be idling nicely by now. Keeping it on for too long is not good. You don't need to keep it on long.

Go to ebay and get an owner's manual. I did that and it is very helpful.
