Changing Risers on a 650 Yamaha V Star

I'm not much of a mechanic, but I want to replace the stock risers with aftermarket risers . . . how do I do that?

Also, make sure your cables are long enough to accommodate your longer risers.

Well without seeing the bike or knowing the year, I'm going to guess. There should be some little round disks on your risers. Those just pop out. Unscrew those bolts and that will release your handlebars. Please cover your tank with a towel or something so when the handlebars loosen they don't hit the tank and possibly dent it (I know from experience). Then there should be a bolt holding each riser on, just loosen them and remove the risers. Hope that helps.
