can not find the perfect jacket :(

by Cinthia
(Southern, CA)

Hello,
I am a newbie learning to ride and I been looking around for motorcycle Jackets, but little do I know I can't find the right one for me. I am 5'6 110 lbs with a 24in waist and bc I'm tall I have supper long arms and I can't find a jacket to fit my body type.
I am a size XS in the body but then the arm sleeves turn out to be too short for me. The sleeves on the Medium sizes are the ones that usually do it for me but then the jacket fits supper big on the body portion D: idk wat to do, I know I can possibly get a cutom made one but that would prbbly be too pricey for me.
Any advice?.

try these
by: raychie

Hey! I wanted to let you know that i am 5'6" 130ish lbs and a 24" waist. I tried on a few jackets and found a perfect fit for me. One was the icon moto hella street angels jacket. Fit amazing, but i wasnt about to shell out almost $250 for a jacket at the time. So i found a second jacket, the Shift Womens Catalina Mesh Jacket. Fit really well, i was pretty happy so at $150 i decided to buy it. I wear a medium. The only way you will know what fits you is to go out to a motorcycle store with a nice selection to try a bunch of jackets on. The shift jacket i mentioned is on closeout i think so it would be best to search as best you can. Ive owned the jacket since spring/summer 09 and has held up well i ride quite a bit.

5'6

I'm 5'6" as well. Have a Harley Davidson and Fieldsheer jacket. Both are a bit long in the sleeve. My problem is my chest, 42D with a narrow waist. I liked the Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 arm length and adjustability in the waist...that's my next purchase for summer. Good luck to finding a good fit.

Solution to Jacket Problems
by: Theresa Lovelace

When a client purchases a jacket trough my site they choose from the size chart the size that best suites them. You will notice that in the sizing chart there is no sleeve or torso lengths listed. This is because each client is contacted after ordering to fine tune things like the need for long sleeves. Other things are often adjusted as well like the colour of leather, I recently had a woman contact me, who had been looking for a navy blue jacket for years to match her bike, althou there are no pictures of navy blue jackets on my site I can infact do any of my jackets jacket or accessories in a very wide range of colours.
I am 5'7" 120lbs with a long torso and long arms so in my world your needs are standards.
Hope this helps

BMW has a good clothing line that fits well, but it is pricey.

alterations
by: Lois

If you have a good place to do alterations you can check with them about taking in the medium size of whatever jacket you like. Just a thought, check the yellow pages or a lot of dry cleaners have someone that does alterations.

Newbie jacket problem
by: Deeann

There is a gal that rides bikes that is very slim and trim. Her name is Betsy Huelskamp. She is well known in the biker business so you can google her and get her site. She is also a personal trainer so you know she doesn't have an ounce of fat on her! You can get a phone number for her on her site. Call and see if she has any ideas. Also, check out "Women Riders Now" on the net. Genevive Schmidt is also big in the biker world and she is very trim too, and is about your heighth. She is the gal that has the Women Riders Now site. I'd be willing to bet that one of these gals can help you find what you need. Good luck.

Men's jacket
by: Kelly

I was going to suggest a smaller men's jacket as well. The sleeves should be longer...
