Motorcycle Helmet Camera

For Serious Photographers on the Road

Motorcycling and photography

I love photography, so of course - a motorcycle helmet camera is something that I lust for.

It's an easy enough thing to take pictures while riding on the back of the motorcycle, but another thing entirely while actually doing the riding.

That is not to say that I have not tried.

In exchange for not renting my own motorcycle on our Isle of Man trip, I was given the opportunity to buy a nice new digital camera with a "shake-proof" feature to use while riding on the back behind my husband. Nice bribe, but I got a lot of use out of that camera on that trip.

On our trip to West Virginia, I thought that I had finally almost mastered the art of photography while riding a motorcycle - but after a morning of trying not to drop the camera when needing to shift, I decided that it probably isn't the best idea. Safety-wise.

So, I've decided that I really need a motorcycle helmet camera. A traveling lens - there when I need it. Always ready to take a picture of the next mountain range in the distance.

What My Research Revealed:

For $249.99, you can get a TWENTY20 HELMET CAMERA, which is a tiny little camera attached to the side of your helmet. Ingenious or what?

Better yet, for $749.99, I can buy a Sony, MOTOCAM 360 MOTORCYCLE MOUNT CAMERA that can be mounted to the motorcycle. Complete with a waterproof hard shell covering, this may be my favorite.

Not to be outdone, Sony also makes the MOTOCAM 360 HELMET MOUNT CAMERA, which mounts to a helmet. For the same price.

I'm off to do some more investigating.
