Charity Motorcycle Ride - Ride to Help Others

Army Reservist Msg Sean M. Thomas

There is nothing more wonderful than a Charity Motorcycle Ride, organized for the benefit of a worthy charity or cause. Recently, I was contacted by Andy Kline, President of the Masonic Motorcycle Club, Chapter 38, in Pennsylvania. Andy told me about an upcoming event - the 3rd Annual Msg Sean M. Thomas Memorial Ride. I was so touched by his story, that I decided to devote a page to this ride, and ask for any possible assistance to this cause from readers of Her-Motorcycle.

A husband and father of a young daughter, on March 27, 2007 Sean Thomas was killed while serving in Iraq with the 28th Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Andy wanted to organize an event to honor Sean, and to help provide for his family - something that Andy knew that Sean would want to do for Andy if their fates were reversed.

Over 200 bikes participated in the First Annual Sean M. Thomas Memorial Ride, and over $4000 was raised for an educational fund for Sean's young daughter, Alexa. I am hoping that this year will prove to be even more successful.
