2009 Yamaha 1300 V-Star

I rode a 2006 Suzuki 800 Boulevard C50 Touring bike for the last 4 seasons and took a nose dive in Virginia July 2009 at our CMA East National Rally. We are not sure what happened but I was always confident in my riding skills. I was going through a curve coming out of the mountains and lost it. We believe I either fell asleep or passed out but do not know for sure. My husband dropped his bike to get to me. I was in the hospital for 3 days and in and out of consciousness for 6 days. Anyways...I am well and doing great.

I don't remember that accident but I was very nervous about getting on another bike but knew I would. Before the end of season last year we both purchased new bikes. Mine is a royal blue Yamaha 1300 V-Star. I was out on it just a few times last season and was still very nervous around curves and turns. We pulled the bikes out 4 days ago and I have been riding for about 1/2 hour each day. My confidence is building again. However, going to a 1300 from a 800 is a big difference and I am still a little nervous around those turns and corners. But I will RIDE ON!

Courage
by: Marcia

Last fall I went from a Honda VTX 1300RS to a Kaw Vulcan Nomad 1700. The second time out I went down and haven't been on it since. Now a little apprehensive about getting back on it, because it is bigger and heavier than VTX. But if you can get back on your bigger bike after the trauma you've been thru, then I know I can. Thanks for sharing your courage!

Vstar 1300
by: Lynn - SW FL

Just last weekend a lady friend I know just upgraded from the Suz. C50 to a RSTD 1300 - lightly used. It is pearl white loaded with hard bags, windshield, etc. She fell in love with it and since her birthday is this week decided she had to have it. Her husband rides a Road Star so now they have similar bikes for road trips.

Your 1300 is beautiful. I love the color! I'm glad you decided to get back on the saddle. Have fun!
