2009 Vulcan 900 custom

by Debra Denton
(San Diego, CA)

My first bike was the eliminator 125. After a couple weeks I wanted to ride on the freeway but this bike, even though it would go fast enough, was not allowed on. I moved up the to Vulcan 900. I really loved the bike at first. I upgraded the grips, seat and put on a wind shield. Started going on longer rides and it was then that I realized what a stiff clutch shift it had. I become almost crippled after an hour of driving where shifting is required. I have looked and looked for some kind of device to be installed to make it easier, but have had no luck. Wish I would find someone with the same issue and share what they have learned. I found a lever adjuster that they make for HD making the pull 50% easier, but nothing for a Vulcan. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help. I am now considering trading the bike in on one with Hydraulic clutch pull.

take it to Kawasaski Place and explain the problem to the mechanic (not to the dealer). That's what I did with my 2008 Vulcan 900 Classic.

They make after market devices to make it easier to pull the clutch lever. Go to Delphi Forums as there is a group called "Kawasaki VN 900". They actually have a posting discussing this topic.
