2007 Suzuki 1250 Bandit

by Donna Rees
(Sacramento, CA)

I have been riding about 8 seasons now and have ridden over 200K miles. I have had several bikes, but keep coming back the the Suzuki Bandit which in my opinion is the best bang for the buck in a full blown touring bike. I have hard bags and a top box and can go almost anywhere with it. Last season, I ended up on 60 miles of dirt track and rocks. It was intimidating to say the least, but I did it, with only one small tip over.

I adore the Bandit. It's an amazing bike, with power to spare. The only drawback is the weight and seat height. It's about 32 inches tall and weighs about 496 wet without luggage. It's a brute. Though not a beginner bike, it's a perfect machine for an experienced rider who wants to travel the continent!!

Can't beat Suzuki, imo!!

Good for you finding and loving your bike. I am just under 5'2" and would love a touring bike. My friend, who is short like me, has had her BMW lowered but it is a pricey proposition since they actually cut the shock. For now I ride a VStar 1100 cruiser since it has such a low seat height and handlebar risers. I must say I get a bit jealous of you ladies with longer legs. Happy Trails!
